Convert Chase statements to Excel, CSV, QuickBooks & Xero
Chase statements are some of the most common files bookkeepers handle, and they come in two quite different shapes: the Total Checking layout with a running daily balance, and the Sapphire / Freedom card layout grouped by purchases, payments and interest.
How Chase statements are handled
Checking statements list deposits, ATM and debit card withdrawals, and electronic withdrawals in separate sections, each with its own subtotal. SheetStatement merges those sections back into one chronological ledger and keeps the section as a hint for categorization, so a Zelle payment and a card swipe on the same day stay in the correct order.
Tips for Chase checking, savings and credit card statements
- Download the PDF from Statements & documents rather than printing the web activity page; printed pages drop the year from dates.
- Card statements show the closing date at the top. We use it to assign the correct year to December/January transactions.
- If you have several Chase accounts, upload each statement separately so balances reconcile per account.
Step by step
- Sign in at chase.com, open the account, choose Statements & documents, then download the monthly PDF.
- Upload the PDF to SheetStatement.
- Review the balance-checked table and export to Excel, CSV, QBO or Xero.
